Now this one is a classic piece of Bill Watterson's imagination. Hats off to him. Let me be quiet. Enjoy the post and if you have not read it before, you are bound to get amazed by Bill's imagination after reading the last block. Too Good !!!

Think before you speak
Sea-saw with Snow Ball
Dad's Job
This strip is another CnH classic. I guess the only time Calvin’s Dad likes to be with Calvin is while reading bed time story when Calvin’s mom have to clean up the dishes.
I loved Calvin’s Mom sarcastic and angry comments. Calvin’s innocent inquiry is also too cute.
Certainly reading bed time story is Dad’s Job and he loves it. Read the strip and you will know the reason. ;-)

Commander Coriander Salamander and 'er SingleHander BellyLander!!!
For once Calvin seems to be interested in reading. Had he said just this much, his Dad might have got a heart attack.
However, Calvin is Calvin. Its not his Maths or English book that he is so anxious to get hold of. Its a book named 'Commander Coriander Salamander and 'er SingleHander BellyLander'. Try saying this aloud. I love the way it sounds.
But Dad's expression in the last picture doesnt look like as though he enjoyed the rhyming very much. In fact he has a better prospect of tackling Architects and Children's books authors.

Calvin at his sarcastic best
A very witty sarcasm by calvin about the present day world. The philosopher in calvin strikes back with ferocious intensity. Sometimes a single line can convey tonnes of meanings to comprehend.
Dad's Bed Time Story
Ask Dad for Bed-Time story when he is busy and you will surely get a story with morals. Check out Dad's story.... Too good !!!
Moral of the story - Don't mess with Dad ;-)

Applications invited for the post of 'Calvin's Dad'...........
Ever wondered, who Calvin might grow up to become?Well, with Calvin, nobody can guess.
But for the time being, Calvin seems to be a highly statistical chap. He keeps polls on his Dad's performance as his Dad and doesnt seem to be very happy with it either. But as always, Dad has a ready-cum-definite answer. The highly acclaimed philosophy that there's not necessarily be any connection between what's good and what's popular. Suddenly the thought of fast food came to my mind. I feel it is the apt example in today's world, which fits Dad's philosophy.
Being Dad's son, Calvin too comes up with a philosophy of his own - To keep a job, one needs the right attitude.
But after all the philosophies, check out Dad's closing comments - The highlight of this strip

Jump out of your skin!!!!!!!
Imagine, you are having a peaceful nightly slumber. At sometime during the wee hours of the very early morning, you hear a ruffle of leaves. You are woken out of your sleep. When you crawl out of your blanket and glance towards the window, you see the shadow of an eight-legged creature crawling up the window glass. There, your eyes are wide open, your heart skips a beat and you jump out of your skin.
Or Imagine, you are in the middle of a thrilling horror novel, where the Captain of the troops is crawling through the forest, to get a closer look at the enemy camp. Suddenly a bomb explodes and your calling bell rings. Here too, you jump out of your skin again.
There are many possibilities for one to jump out of one's skin. But look at what our favorite hero does and at what he intends to do later, with his skinless self.
First mention of Susie
This is the first strip which gives reference to Susie, though her name is not mentioned anywhere in this strip. Hobbes is at his intriguing and teasing best. Check out the last block - "Do you Like her" ;-)

Calvin's Wagon
In words of Bill Watterson:-
Calvin's wagon is a simple device to add some physical comedy to the strip, and I most often use it when Calvin gets longwinded or philosophical. I think the action lends a silly counterpoint to the text, and it's a lot mort interesting to draw than talking heads. Sometimes the wagon ride even acts as a visual metaphor for Calvin's topic of discussion.

No smoking.........
How many of you have tried smoking? When and how was the first experience?
Here, Calvin too wants to smoke, but he cant wait till 18. So whats the next option?
Ask Mom????????????
Well, thats exactly what our little champ did.
Being Calvin's Mom, she knew better than to say an outright 'No'. She allowed Calvin to have a first-hand experience at smoking.
And look at the lesson he learnt......

Calvin and Dad exchanged roles
Most of the time, it is Calvin doing the mischiefs bugging his parents. This time it is the Dad who is bugging Calvin and Mom. Check out the reaction of Calvin and his mom in second last strip. The best is the conversation between Calvin and his mon in last strip :-
Calvin - Just how long did you know Dad before you married him?
Mom - There's one in every house
He he.... that means it would not have made any difference if she would have found some other guy to marry. All men are same.
Yes very true.... Men are Men..... :)

Calvin's New Year Resolution
Hello Friends,
Happy New Year to all of you!!!!
Well, 2007 has gone by and we have resumed our journey with 2008. It has been an eventful year, with a mixture of happenings and emotions. But whether to paint them on the darker side or the brighter side, falls entirely upon us. There might have been some junctions along the 2007 road, where we could have or wished to have stayed a little more longer, there might also be junctions which we would rather have missed. But, turning a little philosophical, if we look back at the gone-by year, every incident, every person we met, would have taught us something, a small thought or a big value.
As someone said, the existence of humanity is the struggle to improve(or did anyone say this?? don't know), some of us might have taken New Year Resolutions to be a better person or to achieve something. Achieving something can range across a wide variety. It can span from learning to whistle(using fingers) to loosing weight to finding a life partner. (All real examples from my friends :) ). Some of us might have taken a resolution to change something about ourselves, which mostly would have taught us a BIG lesson last year. Whatever your resolutions are, here's wishing you the very best in achieving all those!!!!!
Our dear friend Calvin also seems to have some resolution or does he?
Wishing you all a great 2008 !!!!!!!!!!!!!
